This cemetery dates back to the 1800. It used to be the Pointville Methodist Episcopal Cemetery, but is now referred to as the Pointville Cemetery, or the Fort Dix Cemetery.
In 1939 or 1940 the government condemned the land around the cemetery, and later the land was deeded to the government by New Hanover township. That once-condemned land is now McGuire Air Force Base and Fort Dix.
Pointville Cemetery remains untouched, but the Pointville Methodist Episcopal Church was removed from its site in the mid 1940s and relocated to south Jersey.
If at all possible would you know [ why ]??, the
government condemned this land? email me @ firstname.lastname@example.org Thanx Tracy
