I got up early on a rest day and went out to shoot this panorama on a cold morning at the 14000 ft. camp on a climb of Denali's West Buttress. See more here.

breathtaking ..nature at her finest. outstanding photo, but nothing like seeing it for yourself. i have not climbed any mountains, but i have been to clear afs, and have see that "pink" mountain top and it will simply stop you in your tracks. you MUST stop and admire it because there is nothing else like it .. you don't see it often. * go to alaska if you get the chance * I am NOT a travel agent :)

Thanks guys, I have a large print of this hanging on my wall - I think it's the best overall shot I got on Denali. It was also hard work to get - up early the morning, bundle up against the cold, set the camera on the tripod and wait for the light. It was worth it.

wow, congrats!! I didn't know you had climbed on Denali Great shot. Must have been rough going in the cold with all the camera. I can imagine how difficult it is to get a good photo in those conditions. Well done

Thanks Matt, it was a bit tricky (keeping batteries in an inside pocket until the shot was set up) but it was a beautiful calm morning so not much of a problem.
