Otowa-no-taki, Otowa-san Kiyomizu-dera, Kyoto, Japan
Greetings John and Hamza, Thanks for visiting and commenting. You are supposed to drink from two of the three springs, otherwise you are considered to be greedy. It is a fun place to visit.
Greetings Tiffany, You must have visited this temple yourself. You are absolutely right. You walk up on a beautiful hillside from where you can see the entire temple complex. Then you wind back down a lush trail to this final spring. The Japanese aren't superstitious, but the don't take any chances either. They drink from two of the three springs for wisdom, prosperity and long life. It is very fun to participate in the drinking activity. I am glad you like it.
Greetings Akira, Thank you for your visits and generous comments. We had a very enjoyable trip to Japan. We were the typical blundering American tourist that seemed to be every where. All the people we met and visited with were very kind and very helpful. I know we should have only taken water from two of the three springs at this temple, but we thought we would take the chance and have a little from all three. It did not seem to have a bad affect on our trip. All the students seemed to have a very good time laughing and enjoying their trip to the temple. Thanks again for the visit. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a safe new year. Cheers, Rich

You can see a similar triple spring in Brasil at http://www.panoramio.com/photo/28708309 - but there was nobody to explain what the springs were for!
Hi, Rich.
Oh, I went there on a school excursion. And like this place.
Did you have nice days in Kyoto? There are many students in this temple, aren't there?
Greetings from Tokyo, Japan.
