Here in wisconsin we have a lot of lakes,but not as much wilderness as the boundry waters Superior Quetico area. There its real wilderness. My uncle,
in the 1980's,who lives in wisconsin,went through
Gunflint and Grand Marais on a boundry waters trip. If you know Justine Kerfoot she's an outfiter on the lake. Is she still alive,its been a while?John Henricksson is an author about the Gunflint region. If the wilderness is one of the things you love the most like I do, I highly recommend them. The only reason I trust him is he's elderly now and has been living there in his cabin with his wife for five months of the year. May through November. He has to books about the area ''A Wild Neighborhood'', the other I'm not sure of. I your interested you can get them at most book stores. they're 2007 and 2008 copyright.
My other favorites are the Gordon Macquarie trilogy.
Was Justine Kerfoot part of the family who started the Gunflint Lodge? I was up there at the lodge this March (during the warmer months I usually camp) and I believe I may have dealt with her Daughter??? I will certainly look into those books as I do love the area much! . You should try to make it to the Gunflint Lodge as it is such a great place to be. I would hope to find employment up there someday and leave this big city. Thanks for your time in writing to me
