aka Roanoke City Mills. The site of a mill that burned in 1924, now a city park. There is a wide diameter (10' wide x 8') Fitz operating steel waterwheel and dam. The mill was last used as a pumping station by J.N. Phelps. The dam, head race with trash racks, with reconstructed forebay, constantly turning water wheel and tail race are intact. The water wheel sits in a wheel pit next to the parking lot. There is a historical plaque giving the history of the mill.
