Moonrise over Nevada Falls during spring flood, Yosemite National Park USA

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

The moon rises over Nevada Falls in Yosemite National Park in California on an early summer afternoon. Shot from the trail up to the top of the fall that continues on to Half Dome. The fall was flowing much stronger than normal due to the heavy snowpack that year.

Thanks for your comments Bruce, Enson, and Gunnar as well as the Likes!!

It's quite different in the spring Gunnar as you can see. Yosemite is transformed by the water and is incredible to see. But the park is more peaceful in the fall and is also nice to visit then.

I hope you make it back to Yosemite in the spring to experience it for yourself!
