Giant siluet and a beautiful Spring sunset, Yan!
Best wishes. Eva
Like a soldier on the final parade of the day, this pylon (one of two) on the ANZAC Bridge stands still and upright. It is one of our bridges of which we are proud and adds to the reputation deservedly earned by the Harbour Bridge.
Thanks so very much, Digga Twigga, Marilyn, Tamás, and Eva for your appreciative remarks.
Ian / Yan
Well it looks like the good Lord certainly cooperated with you on this one by providing an exceptional sunset Ian. You made the most of it too. Striking silhouette shot. "Spring Sunset" for you while we're having Fall Sunsets here in North America. :)
Best regards, Tom
Dear Tom [and Marilyn],
Marilyn and I have discussed the notion in photography of being a receiver of the image over against the notions of capture, taking or shooting. We prefer the less aggressive of the two mindsets. A Mennonite from Harrisonburg VA, Howard Zehr, recently published "The Little Book of Contemplative Photography. Seeing with wonder, respect and humility" in which he expounds on this idea.
The "wonder" which you infer in your comment is what I experienced at the time and was so pleased to be at that vantage point with my 300mm lens at the time. Again this was without a tripod, a tree trunk sufficed.
Thanks for your affirmation. Enjoy Fall and all its colour. And vote well.
Very good shot of an impressive bridge! Well done, as usual. Greetings, Liviu
The bridge and its delicate lines really make a wonderful contrast against the beautiful golden sky. Lovely photo, Ian.
Dear Liviu and Julie,
It is wonderful to share with you both. Thankyou both for your gracious and affirming comments. I am so pleased that I had my camera with me at the time, for the colour of the sunset surprised me.
Great colours!! Greetings, Paweł
Thanks Pawel! Delighted that you appreciate this sunset.
