I used to play in here as a child in the sixties. It was a ramshackle rundown place then, great for young boys fantasies. I think there was a 3d entrance fee if the keeper was there ( hardly ever ! ). Health and safety wouldn't allow it these days, we used to climb the old steps inside and there were huge drops !. The strip of green opposite used to be the natural ice rink, and was flooded each year, and when Winter came round, was a fantastic free for all slippery fun park. Never more than about 2-3 ft deep underneath !.
