Thank you for your great dream. I was very happy to meet you in 2008.You are my pleasure ,Jim! Now,I'm going to the church to the mass of welcome the New Year.See you Next Year!
Seasons Greetings,Stephan from Seoul (21:45PM/31th DEC 2008)
Looking at your pictures but also at the multiple comments, I take a lot of pleasure.
Since my last visit, you have been prolific.
Plenty of very nice shots: congratulations!
Plenty of funny comments: I like a lot!
But here I need to let a comment: GREAT!
Thanks for giving me a whole new reason to chat 3frem The passing of time had removed the memory of this famous ghost ship, you inspired me to write a little poem
"Van der Decker was her master
a Dutchman from Zeider Zee
The ship was a total disaster
And the crew will never be free
You are most welcome Yves and your feedback and nice comments are much appreciated. I am glad that you dropped in, for it is some time since we chatted. I intend to return the compliment soon.
As you can see I also live in a country with a good sailing tradiction but, without any reason,we try hard to forget it..Italy,land of poets, saints and navigators!... what a pity!
All seems to fade away thru the fog of past times.Anyway thank you for your kindly words and for these drops of knowledge.
Once i was a shipchandler, but now i have several opportunity to speak, read and write in english..sorry for every mistake.
Best Regards-Efrem
Efrem, my apogies for mis-spelling your name. Your English is very good and the full meaning comes across most clearly, so there is absolutely no need to apologise.
I speak very little Italiano and conversation with your fellow country men is through the translator. Sometimes, the translator is really bad and misunderstandings can happen.
Your country has many good reasons to be proud Efrem. You have given the world the most spectacular art in the form of paintings, music, tenors, architecture and fantastic racing cars. Your elegant designers of Fashion, of bridges and aeronautics. Not forgetting the wine, beautiful women. pasta, Venice, Rome, Milan and civilisation of the highest order.
We, the British, even after almost 1700 years, respect and admire the great achievements of the Roman Empire. We proudly conserve and maintain those long since forgotten remains that was once the most powerful dynasty on earth.
True, I cannot bring to mind any famous Italian sons of the sea, but I am sure that you will know of them.
So my friend, we recognise and admire civilised and culturally enlightened nations, and remember that many of the old English families will have Roman blood in their veins. Also french, dutch, flemish, Nordic and german blood too.
I spend quite some time at my local boatyard where there is an excellent ships chandlery, mainly for yachts and motor vessels to 15 metres,
Now that we know a little more of each other it will be good to stay in touch.
Jim, I keep seeing more and more comments to your picture here and I thought I just had to comment again here. This is undoubtedly a fine picture but I am reminded that Panoramio is so much more than just pictures. Your comments, as demonstrated when you have visited my pictures and even more so with the comment above to Efrem demonstrates how much time and effort you give to your viewers in order to both convey the feelings of the picture involved or in Eframs case showing that understanding nature of yours towards our fellow Panoramians. You make me quite proud when I see such comments and therefore I applaud you! See you some more. Efram I too, echo Jims fine words for your beautiful country, history and countrymen!! Regards, Herb
Dear Herb, it is a real pleasure for me when I get such positive feedback ;>).
Panoramio brings many people from different nations together, and through our photos, the great divide is bridged as we embrace our new found friends ;>)
I have to admit that There are probably too many images in my gallery of this incredible hulk, but isn't she just so photogenic. I like to try different things and this spooky image appeared in mono when messing around in 'Elements6' ;>)
I am pleased with the response and enjoy all the excellent feed back that so many people leave ;>)
Leo- I take your kind words with affection my friend ;>)
<| Micha |> Thank you for your encouragement ;>)
scml Sandy- Your Y* is indeed an honour and I am most grateful for your generous praise
febrok- I am humbled by your kind appraisal, your compliments mean a great deal to me ;>)
