If you've ever had the misfortune to be in this building you would remember. Known to be a violent, dirty discusting place if you needed a cheap place to live. Not me, I only worked here a few times.

that was my very first apartment. The building itself was beautiful in my opinion, originaly being a boarding hotel, it had murals painted on the walls etc and huge staircases, but its too bad it wasn't taken care of. Ever since i think at least the 1980's the owners only wanted to pull the money out of it, and let it fall into disrepair. From there everything went downhill, including the tenancy. One landlord hired by the owners moved out in the middle of the night once after collecting most of the rent

Thanks for your comments. I personally love all the old blocks in the West End, Wolseley & Downtown. It would be great to see this one renovated & turned into condos or something. These old buildings were built to last, but like anything else needed upkeep and maintenance, and this place just didn't get it. Luckily though, it and some of the West-End's other old blocks didn't burn, and we still have a lot of them left around today. I love checking them out on GE as well.
