WOW what elevation are you here?
I'd have to look at a map to remember - I think it would be somewhere between 3,000 and 5,000 feet. You don't have to go very high to get above treeline in Alaska! And the clouds are coming in off the ocean, which accounts for their low altitude.

Thank you Andrew! I look on these photos with nostalgia now. We moved from Anchorage to northern California in June, and I certainly miss hikes like this. I just checked out your collection and see you have visited Cain's Head. I had really wanted to do that before we left Alaska, but as you know it takes proper timing - if you walk - and we could never align our schedule with the tides! We'll get back there one day, I'm sure. Alaska doesn't let you leave easily...
