dines with or dines ON????? I saw a conversation you had with Don Lamont and he wrote about raccoons eating peacocks!! That's a pretty bird too. H

Helen, Don did say that didn't he?! These raccoons are busy eating what I dole out so they totally ignore the birds. I guess the birds here can easily fly away before the raccoons could catch them. No, it is definetly dine with and not ON. No, this young Cardinal was just hanging out with the raccoons.

I admire the bird's guts...

Jean Gregory Evans on November 15, 2008

Alexis Gl., it probably wasn't all that gutsy of the bird, he is a mere child, not long out of the nest and still learning the ropes. But other birds came and dine with the raccoons. When I am out there with the raccoons, the birds stay away but when I look out the window, there are birds and squirrels and chipmunks and at night there is even an opossum. Once I saw a fox too.

If you are a bird, and if you want to dine with raccoons, it's an advantage if you have a very long spoon..... ;)

great spontaneous "grab shot"!

Feenix, that comment sounds like a bit of old and wise wisdom. :)
