I thought I recognised this as 'darkest Radford, or perhaps Hyson Green. It's interesting to see how the authorities have spelled 'Cantabury' Avenue. I've seen quite a lot of thoroughfares misspelled. My latest graffiti shots were taken not far from here along Gregory Boulevard. Looking at these shots, I suspect that the council was looking at demolishing these houses for something more adventurous.
A small slice of history well captured.

I think those are the Hyson Green Flats behind, in which case, facing as it does, it ought to be one of the little closes that were near the Old General (does that still stand? I know I have it´s picture but haven´t unearthed it yet). But I suppose it could be the New Basford or Radford Flats. What I wanted to show, as you suggest, is the irony of pulling down admittedly unsatisfactory housing in oeder to put people in equally unsatisfactory flats. Which were in their turn pulled down.

You may be interested to know that the Old General, on the corner of Berridge Road, is still active and in regular use.

HI. These are the Radford flats on Hartley Road. I suspect this is a terrace off Trafalgar Street.

Thanks for these corrections. I thought these were the Hyson Green Flats but couldn't see how to locate the terrace. I'll find somewhere appropriate on the map and correct again if I need to. Best wishes, "Prufrock".
