Spectacular view of all the roots coming up out of the sand, Michael.

After seing your photo on google earth I a couple of months ago drove along that stretch of cost north of Al Ruwais to try to find that mangrove - without success! Are you 100% sure about the location? If you are right, then the mangrove has now been bulldozed into an recreational beach – and that would be sad...

dear terp16, thank you for following my ways ! I am sure the location is indicated correctly. but I also saw traces of beginning construction activity there which could have ended up in the 'recreational beach' you mentioned. pity because I saw very proliferating wildlife as well. I hope you also made it to al-shamal, which was the place where there was the most untouched of the mangrove sites in qatar.
