The architectural details are just great. This is a lovely place and I love the these colors together. Really pretty. I bet there is a story about the heads and the little statues on the rooftop. I will return for your wonderful titles...

Yes! Great title too! Oh, how did I get here. I went by a link from that other photo. You have not done the link yet here...

HERE'S THE BACK OF THE LEFT HAND BUILDING There is the most awful post bang slap in front of this building, complete with the most ugly wires too. It rather puts a dampener on the original grandeur of the architecture, which is sad. I was going to post a photo with the post in the picture as well, but just managed to squeeze it out on the left hand side. It really is too ugly. It would have been called beauty and the beast. Actually, I might still do that.....

wow, thanks Jean, you were really quick off the mark. I had them all lined up, sorting out what I was going to do with another one, and all of a sudden, they all plopped into place before I'd finished, and you'd already seen them!!! You're faster than a hare!!

Very best wishes to you, sue

Sue, that has happened to me sometimes too!

Our Main Street in the top of town hill area, used to have the ugliest mess of wires, it really was getting all criss-crossy and tired looking. Some wonderful person that I don't know the name of, started a movement to get it changed and one day out of no where, the power company dug up the streets and created an awful mess for us to have to maneuver through for quite some time. But oh, my, when they finished, the town looks so good. Something to admire and be proud of. After that, it seemed every building in town did a lot of sprucing up. I am sure there was an organized effort but I don't know who did it. But I really am pleased that they did. Now, if only the power company would return and perform some more of the magic! It must be expensive to do all that work so I won't complain about them too much. And I am thankful for what they did already.

I hope your power company will see this photo and then see the other photo with the power lines and help tidy up the town for you! Your town really is pretty!

The trouble is, Jean, I was deliberating over this when doing the washing today, and I've come to the conclusion that although yes, the wires are ugly, they are also very old by the look of them, so in a way, they're part of our history too, so maybe they shouldn't be cleaned up after all. I just don't know about that. It's a conundrum!

Cheers, Jean, for making me have something to chew over while doing the most boring of jobs!

Thanks, Steve, I appreciate that, as I know you're not a building person, but more of a 'decent sunset shot' person, I'd say, so this is all the more valuable a comment to me!

Very best wishes to you, sue
