In 654 AD St. Cedd built a monastery on the site of an old Roman fort. This is its chapel. It now sits alone except except for its neighbour, a nuclear power station.
Hello Christopher. An excellent image of a wonderful building. I sat inside one afternoon with no other visitors around, the silence only broken by the fluttering of butterflies against the small windows as the sun streamed in. A beautifully simple church well worth the trek up the lane to reach it. Regards Geoff.
