Black and White shot of a Brisbane tram crossing the Fiveways at Woolloongabba during the early 1960's. The hut to the right houses the controller.

Brings back so many memories! I still remember the man with the red flag and bell who used to escort the goods train across Main St. Held up traffic for ages!

When I was a young bloke of eighteen I used to ride on these trams from Clarence Corner to Balmoral Terminus on my way to work as an Apprentice Plumber, no heating in 1960's.

This is a fairly modern tram. I use to hide in the back of the older trams (sometimes under the seats) aged 3yo and travel back & forth between Clayfield & Salisbury etc. That was when I wasn't catching "lobbies" beside the railway line.

Yes, lovely photo. I must start telling a tram story or two. I have one that includes the train crossing Main Street etc but I have quite a few tram memories. I'd forgotten about the controller's hut.
