Hiya Mary, I was beginning to feel drained, what with all that Christmas prep, then I remembered seeing this amusing bird with its quizzical, comical appearance ;>) Now I feel much better, he's a hoot !!
Excellent capture and portrait, but the ground wood shavings tend to suggest this was shot in a zoo, not in the wild, contrary to what its tag says! Nice job anyway! Greetings from Switzerland, wx
Very good observation wx. It was taken at Animal Kingdom in Disney World. There were no restraints or nets, but the bird seemed very happy to be there.
I will probably leave the tag, since there are so many ibis in this part of the country that they really aren't wild. We see them in our gardens, and there are so many on the University of Miami campus that it is the symbol of the institution.
You are right, SHoweMBOU, they are very common here, even in the city. I apologize for the long delay. I had somehow missed your comment. Thank you for the visit!
I'm glad you liked this shot, cferr49631,. It was taken at Disney World, not its natural habitat.

Greetings from Miami, Mary
Seems odd that no-one has named the bird as American White Ibis (Eudocimus albus), the most abundant waterbird in Florida!
Beautiful shot!
