Hi, Chris and Jean, you're right, it's a permanent war memorial. It has some beautiful artworks along the walls, which I was unable to do justice to with my camera, but now I have a different one, I'll go back and see if I can take a picture of each mural (made out of glazed pottery pieces - very clever!) and post them on here for you to see. They're so beautiful, I didn't want to do a poor job of them..
