The church was built in 1402 so that the villagers didnt have to walk 3 miles to Hampton and back, fording the River Blyth both ways, every Sunday. Knowle's most famous son (excluding me) is the science fiction writer John Wyndham (Day of the Triffids, The Midwich Cuckoos).

Jasper Carrott lives approx 1 mile from Knowle, near Chadwick End, he could be Knowle's most famous comedian.

Hi Yes I know :) Down Bakers Lane near the canal. My brother once repaired his TV and noted that he did indeed have problems with moles on his lawn. I also think that Jasper as a young lad lived a couple of doors up from my grand-mother in Solihull. I remember going to see him pre-fame days when he compered his folk club down at the Old Sils rugby club.
