Hi Marilyn.
A nice series of early snow. I like this one for the starkness of the trees. It reminds me of my youth in Indiana and the first snow of the season. Is this one of those "lake effect" snows I recently heard about?
Best wishes, Larry

Thank you, Laci and Larry.
Larry, as I zoom out on the map and consider the direction from which the snow must have come, I imagine this could be "lake effect" snow, coming off Georgian Bay of Lake Huron. There are curious bands in Ontario that get "lake effect" snow when conditions are just right (or just wrong!). Some, like one a short distance north of where I live, are a considerable distance from the Great Lakes. But I took this photo about 60 miles from home, and I don't know the local weather patterns. Also I believe that an "Alberta Clipper" has gone through recently. Can it precipitate "lake effect" snow? It seems reasonable but I don't know.
Best wishes, Marilyn

Hope we get snow over here in Holland this year. Like to make pictures of a world with changed colors. Last year we where only able to make pics early in the morning. It lasted only for about an hour and dissapeared till next year.....
Nice picture! Gr, Ed.

Beautifully framed midwest scene, Marilyn. I too spent a number of years in Indiana, and agree with Larry's comments about the feel of that first snow.
Best regards,
Hank

Great composition here, Marilyn
The reddish brown is especially appealing against the heavily clouded sky and the beautiful dusting of snow in the foreground.
It is a wonderfully rich capture inviting one to want to explore further if they only could get a little closer without disturbing the silence of the moment.
Best regards,
Mary Alice

I laugh a bit at myself whenever I take a shot like this. I remember that years ago, before a trip to Europe, I was advised to take along pictures not only of my house, etc., but of the landscape around where I lived. Farmland? Who would ever take a picture of that?? I think I took couple of photos, but I certainly never showed them to anybody! As you see, I'm a convert!!
Greetings, Marilyn
