The complex used to be a paper mill, but the paper production has ended already several years ago. There is still at least some chemical works (note the Finnish Chemicals' "FC" logo on top of one of the buildings). To the right, there is also a water power plant. And UPM Kymmene still makes pulp and paper in Kuusaanniemi (to the east across the river Kymi).
