In front there is the Bank of Albania (Durres branch) building, which was built during the Italian occupation (around WW2) in obvious neo-classicist style. On its roof, there is a statue of the city's last Illyrian ruler, namely Queen Teuta. The appartement block that we see behind is what I would properly call a "new building", dating just a few years back, after the end of the communist era.
