This is Stout Grove in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. This grove has been a known destination for a long time, and is very photogenic. Not too far away in the park, is another grove with larger redwood trees, called Grove of Titans:
Largest Redwood Trees
Whether big trees or small, I think Boyscout Tree trail is one of my favorites in the park. Off the same Howland Hill Road as is Stout Grove.

Very cool! I wish we still had old growth trees here in NC ... it takes quite an effort to see anything remotely close to this in our area (thanks to the sake of "progress"). Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the note. If you like big tree photos, use the link in my first comment, and find Michael Taylor's site that I linked to. Interesting pics in his gallery. Cheers, Mario.

I don't know that it would have ever occured to me to shoot a panorama here but it's FANTASTIC! This is really beautiful and I love your unique perspective on the tall trees and the beauty that is the coastal redwoods.
Greetings from San Diego CA, -Bill
