Beautiful shot. Real nice atmosphere in this image. I flew over this back in 97 but didn't get any shots. I'm jealous. :)

All the best, Tom

Thanks very much Tom, it was the best I could do on the day. I was back in Portland for the flight home from holiday in Oregon and had a day to spare, so crossed the border. After getting glimpses though the trees, with no where to stop, the road did finally come to a lookout. I guess one can put up with wet, dreary weather when the clouds add atmosphere to a shot. Thanks again, Rob

The zebra stripes make it more dramatic, Rob. I was in Spokane the year she blew her top. What a mess that was.

Hi not1word, Without a doubt there is an impression of zebra in there, I'd not seen it before, so thank you for seeing with a fresh pair of eyes. Also, I was interested to read in wikipedia about the ash cloud reaching Spokane, and what I was not aware of was the continued activity. Cheers, Rob
