Beautiful Work! Maybe Biology is more rewarding than I first thought ;-)

Biology has it rewards. Unfortunately it's not all glory though, for all the amazing moments there's 100 sitting in front of a computer. Just have remember those amazing ones...

Beautiful and terrifying !

Looks like a huge dog, though there's no scale to judge. I can't tell if it is collared. Is it part of a pack or a disperser?

Several wolves in southwest Montana had to be killed this winter as a result of livestock depredation. I assume that's not a huge issue where you are??

No collar. It's been many years since wolves in this area were collared. It was part of a pack of 7, all at very high elevation. We definitely get cattle depradation here, but as wolves are not protected here landowners deal with the problems as they arise.

I can see why this one made your top 10, Conatello, it is an amazing picture. Even if this is a 1-in-a-100 moment, it's still a good profession I'd say :)

A very impressing shot!

Hi! Great capture. I had a similar event, spotting a wild wolf in the Golan hights circa 1988. Your portfolio is a delight to nature lovers!

ConradT on April 21, 2008

Thanks for the compliments. Not many wolves in the Golan Heights these days I'm guessing.

You are right. I am not sure if any survived. I'll try to find out and update. Thanks again for the great pictures. Greetings
