You're getting some beautiful results from your inclement weather, Kamaly. Sometimes those clouds help spice up a sunset. : )

Very interesting - so is there a Stonehenge there too? I'm curios as to why the area is called Salisbury Plains. Another beautiful photo Kamaly.

Thanks, not1word ! Yes, this was the last view of the sun for a few days, and so those clouds moving up the coast at least soften the blow of missing the cool conjunction a tiny little bit. Hope you'll have some great shots of it.
And LOL, thanks, Cal! But are you intentionally setting yourself up here? :D Many of the place names around New England are taken from the familiar locations the settlers came from back in Olde England. And there actually are a few sites that are claimed to be Stonehenge-like, traced back to Vikings and other pre-Columbus visitors. But here in Salisbury, the ancient site is based on a different historical tradition **:D)) (Did your brother set you up to ask that question, lolol?)

It really is a gorgeous photo, but I don't understand the title. What does it mean? And.. is that building a see-through or reflections in windows?

Hi Jean - well, believe it or not, given some of my strange titles, that's the actual name of this 19th century navigational aid at the mouth of the Merrimack River where it meets the Atlantic Ocean. It marks the mouth of the river for approaching ships to see from a distance. But why it's named after a Civil War general and politician from the area, Gen. Benjamin Franklin Butler, I'm really not sure! No idea if he was behind having it constructed, or if it was a jab at him. Sometimes I can find good info on it on the web, and sometimes I can't. Today's a 'Can't'.

Thanks very much, Frank! It's a wonderful area in the winter - lots of seals at low tide, bald eagles, and great sunsets. This spot is much too crowded for me in the summer, though, that's for sure! That's when I stay to the south in the wildlife refuge on Plum Island. Happy New Year to you, Barbara, and your family :)
