We already have one of those, each gallery user has the delete button beside each of the comments in their gallery. It would be the same deal as having to keep changing the filter combinations every time the spamoramians figured out the kill words.

The spam is annoying, but it's not life threatening. It's rude and self-serving, but it is able to be gotten rid of.

one interesting thing I thought of in reading through the discussion above: Tony mentions that once someone wins The "Contest", they are excluded from further contests. And quite interesting: once someone wins, gee, you'll never see them just stopping by your page to comment on your photos again. Clearly they were only there littering your page with spam for votes, not looking at your photos. Plus I'd always wondered why one person I know of who sort of pathologically creates new user names to comment and praise their own photos, and who did have one of the early wins, has been coming up with lots of new user names and never spamming under the one most of us know them by. Now I know.

Listen, on my pages, this whole oblique referencing bit (sic, haha) won't fly. We talk in whole sentences, and we name drop to our heart's content. How's that for content? I don't know all the faces that go with all the names hereabouts, and I need official introductions and calling cards.

I left a note of regret on one of his photos, as I seemed to be the only author of commentary who had no contest to sell. How can I be such a loser?

Wow! It has taken me ages to wade through all these comments, but they have made for very interesting reading!!!! Now I know why I hate entering the competition!! Maybe it should be banned, and Panoramio to go back to just being a friendly photo sharing site. The Spamoramio shots have given me a laugh though!! ;D

Bruce, I have never been comfortable with asking for votes, so I have only ever entered once or twice! But there are some stunning photos on here, I just do it as a hobby. I'm not competitive!! And I agree with you, I've found myself in many of the galleries on here by clicking on the photos on google earth.

Paula K, I'm glad you enjoyed your wading in the comments section. Sometimes that's quite a bit of fun, when the conversations are running well. Competitions are fun in their own way, validation is always an enjoyable piece of a win, but the stampede that occurs monthly is an amazing demonstration of self-aggrandizing that is getting a bit out of hand, it would seem.

Interesting rock formation .The "SPAM" confused me a bit , but fred not 'Google' told me it is the name of a food company . A very good Pun , indeed on the computer 'Spam'. My pet lizard is hungry , SPAM will be nice. Feed me. Be Excellent to each other , and Party on !!!
