The River Nene is one of my favourite places - so much so that I wrote a book about it more than 10 years ago. That book - The River Nene From Source to Sea - is now long out of print (but fetching absurd prices on Amazon and eBay) so I'm working on a second edition... hence photographs like this one, taken near Oundle during the brief floods of November 2008. It was very early in the morning and geese were feeding in the flooded meadows.
