The River Nene is one of my favourite places - so much so that I wrote a book about it more than 10 years ago. That book - The River Nene From Source to Sea - is now long out of print (but fetching absurd prices on Amazon and eBay) so I'm working on a second edition... hence photographs like this one, taken near Polebrook. I think the rolling green meadows and the gnarled old willow tree epitomise this beautiful river.
