I am told that Bearshank Lodge was where The Stranglers, the post-punk band, had their home and recording studio in the early 1980s... the ear when they produced some of their most haunting tracks (Golden Brown, Skin Deep, etc). Perhaps it was because of this evocative setting, adjacent to the supposedly haunted Bearshank Wood?
