陈文帝陈茜永宁陵石刻坐落在南京市栖霞镇新合村狮子冲田野中。
陈茜(527年一566年),字子华,吴兴郡长城县(今浙江长兴县)人,陈霸先兄始兴昭烈王陈道谭之子。史称他“少沉敏,有识量,美容仪,留意经史”。陈霸先对其颇为器重,称其为“吾家英秀”。陈霸先起兵讨候景时,陈蓓在临安县郭文举家被侯景部下捉住送往建康(今江苏南京),侥幸生还。 陈茜在梁本历任吴兴太守、会稽太守,协助陈霸先消灭王僧辩部属。陈霸先称帝后,封为临川王。曾召总揽军政,后奉命驻军皖口。永定三年(559年)六月,陈霸先死,陈茜进京继承帝位,次年改元天嘉。Translate

the fabled animal(looks like a lion but not) called "bi-xie辟邪" has a long history.
the "lion" is to guard one emperor's tomb of the Southern and Northern Dynasties 南北朝 (AD 420~589)
and now it's figure become the sign of the city Nanjing
