陈文帝陈茜永宁陵石刻坐落在南京市栖霞镇新合村狮子冲田野中。
陈茜（527年一566年），字子华，吴兴郡长城县（今浙江长兴县）人，陈霸先兄始兴昭烈王陈道谭之子。史称他“少沉敏，有识量，美容仪，留意经史”。陈霸先对其颇为器重，称其为“吾家英秀”。陈霸先起兵讨候景时，陈蓓在临安县郭文举家被侯景部下捉住送往建康（今江苏南京），侥幸生还。 陈茜在梁本历任吴兴太守、会稽太守，协助陈霸先消灭王僧辩部属。陈霸先称帝后，封为临川王。曾召总揽军政，后奉命驻军皖口。永定三年（559年）六月，陈霸先死，陈茜进京继承帝位，次年改元天嘉。Translate

the fabled animal(looks like a lion but not) called "bi-xie辟邪" has a long history.
the "lion" is to guard one emperor's tomb of the Southern and Northern Dynasties 南北朝 (AD 420~589)
and now it's figure become the sign of the city Nanjing
