Raccoon Footprint in Snow in my yard on December 2, Franklin, NC, USA
Jan, the raccoon is a bit larger than a house cat and his tiny paw has a tiny hand on it. You can see it in my gallery by clicking on the tag 'raccoon'. Or you can view it in this cool (my first!) Look around. I stood right over this footprint but I don't remember if I zoomed any or not. I can't tell by reading the focal length under Extra Information which states it as 6.00mm. Jan, do you know that I am also jgevans? Hi! It's me!
Jacques, I'm so glad to get your compliment! Thank you.
Great shot Jean. I'm sorry I haven't kept up with your gallery. It's so hard to keep up with so many fab shots! This is pretty special! We don't have these animals in England. Wish we did!!!
Paula, thanks for your visit and absolutely no reason to apologize! Please don't feel you have to keep up. If you are like me, you only come by when you have a chance and sometimes days may go by! I'm glad for your visit and your compliments!
The paw of the raccoon looks very much like a tiny human hand and I wish I had made my handprint beside this one. Maybe that next photo op will present itself! I hope.
Greetings Jean! I really should be in bed now, it's 3.30 here. I love animals and wish we had raccoons here!! Although I don't think my neighbours would agree!! I am trying desperately to encourage squirrels to my garden. I have set up a table especially for them. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!! I may have some really good pics like yours!
Paula, Welcome to the animal lovers club! It seems there are more and more of us. A friend that I had not seen for a few years saw the newspaper article and called me and told me about another friend of hers just across the mountain from me that has a family of oppossums visiting their house each night. It seems that every few days, I hear of another person enjoying their wild animal neighbors too (not the human ones, although they can be fun too). Hope to see your great photos soon!
Hans, yes, raccoons that live in the woods around my house visit me here just outside of my house. They are so cute to watch.
Jan, thank you! I tried it on the translator and it worked! een wasbeer means raccoon. I'm not sure how it sounds but now I know the written word in Danish! Thanks, Jan!

Jazz, thank you! The Look Around is a really cool thing and I think that you have several! But no, I don't think I'll be going for a third gallery! Having two is very confusing to me! Take care..
joyfotos, I was lucky with the light, the sun was just coming up and the shadows were showing up a bit then I used the computer to add some contrast so it would show up better. This is a good print, most of them are only partial. They don't like to be out very much in the snow so I think that the raccoon who made this paw print must live very close.
joyfotos, that is sad to hear... or maybe good for the economy! Hope you find your favorite color in the affordable range. Happy shopping and I'm sending very good luck wishes!

Did you zoom this photo Jean? Or is it a big footprint. Interesting shot.

And Jean beer is not the english beer but your bear in German/Dutch. Behr/beer. Same pron. Think of Berlin, the city of the bears.
Greetings, Jan

Jazz, I have seen galleries with nearly a hundred pages so I don't think I have to think about any time soon. But you are right!
Jean
Love the pawprint & look around. Just the perfect amount of snow for the contrast with the sand/dirt background.

Not much new there....my car needs a new part that is twice the value of the vehicle. so unfortunately I am car shopping...Ugh!

That is what my daughter says and I tell her it may be good for the economy at large but it is bad for my economy!
joyfotos, I really know what you mean! I wish you good luck in your search.
