This old lighthouse, over looking the coastal marshes on the east bank of the River Nene estuary, was once the home of the famous wildfowl artist, Peter Scott, in the year before the second world war. It was here that he decided to give up the gun in favour of the brush, after shooting and injuring a goose and watching its distressed mate return to the scene. It was therefore very appropriate that a flock of wild geese obligingly flew into the scene when I was there taking this photograph in November 2008.

Hope you enjoy the picture!
