These were constructed in days gone by, to work hard for man, they did their job well, why does'nt some association get this one fixed to run again? It would pull in lots of tourism dollars and look / sound amazing when hauling passengers again

Listen to Bruce, Millotaurus! He is the train expert! One can learn a great deal from him. ( I already have. ) =)

Thank you for your kind visit and shared history.

Best regards from the USA,

Mary Alice

Greetings, FlinstoneRO, and thank you very much for your kind words on this old locomotive.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed the shot, and I hope you'll come and visit my gallery again soon.

Best regards on this chilly Sunday,

Mary Alice

"...and another one's gone,

Yeah, another one's gone,

Another one bites the dust! . . ."

Actually, it hasn't quite bitten it yet, but it's close! It's hanging on, and hoping for better days.

Thanks for the Queen tune. It will be stuck in my head all evening now, but that's okay because it's a favorite! Who doesn't love some Queen?

Thanks for your friendly visit,

Mary Alice

Sue... You're sounding a lot like DORY here! Really, you are! =)

"She's a killer Queen

gunpowder gelatine

dynamite with a lazer beam

guaranteed to blow your mind

recommended at the price

Insatiable an appetite,

Wanna' try? . . . "

trikermike on January 14, 2009

Freddie Bulsara, now there was an artist

a singer of great renown who didn't mind wearing just trackers, but I've seen him wearing a crown

for he was the King of glam rock

whose memory lives on forever

will we forget dear Frediie? the only answer is NEVER!

MaryAlice on January 14, 2009

Never, Never, Never! =)

Sue Allen on January 14, 2009

He he, amazing how the conversation can just spring off at a tangent, isn't it? I'm going to bring it back on track now, get it, train, on track!

Hope you've got your camera ready, John :D

Actually, bringing two themes together, Mary Alice, I bought myself a bargain t shirt the other day, which has on the front in large letters, "DON'T YOU KNOW I'M LOCO?" I'm perfectly sure one of us should be wearing it! :)

Loco, of course being the linking theme back to this marvelous old train! so, have you had any interested buyers lurking around, since you posted this photo, Mary Alice? I sorely do want to see it rescued in reality.

I just can't believe the amount of old treasures, in the way of buildings and machines which are crumbling merrily away in the midst of time, away over there in Georgia. My favorite person to spout, 'somebody' should renovate them all and save them from total dereliction, but just who is 'somebody, that is the question....?

Very best wishes to you all, I've done enough waffling to last me all day!

Sue Allen on January 14, 2009

somebody, oooooooo somebody, someboooooodeeeee, can anybody find meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...somebody to looooooovvvve, oooooh, oooooooooo.boom I work hard...boom boom every day of my life...I try and I try and I tryyyyyyyyyy, but eeeeeeeverybody wants ta put me down....they say I'm goin' crazeeeeeee....

Yep, you can't beat a bit of Queen....but back to the train!!

sorry about that, had a relapse..

Jim Evans (AXOTA) on January 14, 2009

Don't worry Sue, just calm down and get a grip. I've called a doctor but he is not confident you'll make it.

Meanwhile, I'll just turn up the volume on "Innuendo"" it'll drowned out all that din from Oz :>))

Sue Allen on January 15, 2009

Din!!What, me singing, do you mean?? You cheeky blighter, Jim, I sounded just like Freddie, I'll have you know!

Back to the train....I was wondering how the train got into the middle of the field, were the tracks just taken up around it. I should read all through these comments, the answer is bound to be in here somewhere, isn't it?

My very best wishes to all you people who have such good taste in all things, including trains and Queen. Isn't it amazing how we all seem to have so many interests in common!?

So, to you, Mary Alice, Mike and Jim, and John with the camera, I say good night, as I'm turning over a new leaf as from tonight and going to bed before midnight or BUST! (Once I've done the washing up, and it's already getting on for 11, so I'd better get my skates on. I'll have to read through and see how the train got there another time soon.

Bye then,

trikermike on January 15, 2009

For a brief moment Sue it sounded like SHEER HEART ATTACK

But I guess you're right, we should return to BEST OF

and so I leave you thinking,

will Mike ask anyonelse, like me, for permission to use a pic or two in his BOOK(let) thing for charity?

For sure, I would like volunteers from all around the globe

all from Panoramio to help in this great quest

and stand beside MaryAlice & ** skida** , jgevans many others too, come on, join us to see what we can do

For the photos that you put up, with a bit of my poetry,

will get a bit of money raised,

to give to charity.

MaryAlice on January 15, 2009

DORY! I mean, Sue, Hilarious Sue, how you make me laugh out loud! If I were eating while reading your rambling and singing above, I would have spit my entire mouthful across the room!

You Crack Me UP! How can you be so funny? I could just hear you singing. You added so much into it. All the Booms and dragging out your words just like in the real song, and like Dory would do if she were singing Queen!

Wouldn't that be fun to hear?

Going to bed before midnight is an excellent goal. I wish you the best of luck with that, Sista! =)

The train is smack a dab RIGHT out in the middle of the field on just a tiny bit of track. They had some HUGE something drag it out there. There was a gentleman trying to tell us all about it when we were there, but I've since forgotten all the juicy details. My memory just isn't what it used to be. It was a huge, Huge machine from way way back. It is there on the side of the field as well.

I know that didn't help you much, but I was just trying to contribute what I knew.

When are you changing your name to DORY, Sue?

Did you ever read all the comments I left back to you on the Triple cat and the fence on a pretty day shots? I bet you missed those, but it was days ago. Who knows if you could find them again now. You know how things get lost.

It's great hearing from you, and I love your singing.

Do you know, "You're my best friend?" What another GREAT queen song! The lyrics are the bomb!

Okay! Gotta' Motor!

It's suppose to be in the single digits tomorrow AM. I am not prepared. There will be icicles in my hair on the way to work in the morning, as I always go with wet hair and dry it when I get there. Eeeek! I will freeze for certain!

Chow, my dear friend,

MaryAlice on January 15, 2009

Ahhhhh . . . worry not, Bruce the cry-baby Moose! =) It's all good times around these parts! Join in on the fun!

I had to do something to take the edge off of the sadness of Michel's sudden shocker. =( His empty gallery still has me sudden and quite blue.

QUEEN seemed like the obvious solution though, wouldn't you agree?

Do you like Queen? Who doesn't like Queen, I ask?

Dory ( Sue) could cheer up the saddest person in the world, so luckily her singing came right on time.

Anyway, I'm very happy to see you here, and I hope that you will feel free to sing out loud at any given moment! Burst into song!

You can be BRUCE, the Singing Moose!

Sue Allen on January 16, 2009

I just went to investigate and have suddenly lost my voice. Gosh, it's awful when someone goes like that. I'd never given it much thought, but really, I hold you panoramioans in higher regard than most people I see in town. I spend so long in conversation with you all, I really feel rather bereaved, having investigated your conversation. We shall miss Michel very much.

I shall sing a song to cheer myself up.....when I can think of one. I think the happiest person to watch singing, is Noddy Holder from Slade, so i'm going to watch him right now. That might help a bit. It's titled Run run away and I guarantee it'll put a smile on your face, due to his sheer unadulterated enthusiasm for his music and life! Hope you enjoy it, even if it's a bit blurry - old film.

Very best wishes,
