Wow! one helluva size! is it a hybrid?
looks like a rare Sea Eagle-Duck!
Yes Mike I think it is a hybrid but if you notice it still has the curly tail of the Mallard. At the same location I think there was a hybrid Tufted Duck and I have uploaded it here, and this one has retained the tufted head.
Lovely to see!
Mike is right, this one makes my Mallards look like a midget. You must feed your ducks well in England.
Will have to come back for a longer visit when I have more time and see more of your gallery.
It was nice to see that this very big lad was completely at home with all his mates!
I will look forward to your visits.
Best Regards Peter
Had a tiny peek last night. But Mike has kept me busy this morning answering all his comments. Will get back again soon.
The size of the mallard in front really is amazing! Great capture, Peter! Cheers, Anne
Interesting. Those curls..... If I'd known what to look for I'd have seen em Peter but I am amazed by the size of this guy. I wonder what it is a cross with ?
Warmest regards from North Carolina
What a party treat that would be
to roast him Peking style
with skin so dark and crispy!
Shred the breast and leg meat too
to roll in pancakes with salad , Hoi sin sauce and Plum sauce too
then serve it up for me and you.
Come to think of it, you might want to invite a few freinds too, he is a BIG BOY!
Olá Peter, este realmente enchia mais o prato.Abraço, Eduardo.
