Cliff Palace, Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado

Mesa Verde National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ancient Puebloan Indians lived in these cliff dwellings. Tree ring dating indicates that construction and refurbishing of Cliff Palace was continuous from c. AD 1190 through c. 1260. Cliff Palace was abandoned by 1300.
