This monument on Pensacola Beach, simply known as "The Cross", has protected this wonderful area since the 1950's from many violent and destructive hurricanes.

You are very welcome for the comment. You truly have some wonderful photographs of some interesting places.

As for this photo of New York… Unfortunately, the only time I have visited was after 9/11. It is an amazing city- a far-reaching change from the Emerald Coast of Florida, which I am affectionately accustomed to. And, speaking of the Gulf Coast… I was going to mention to you, I’ve found the best places along the northwest Florida coastline to snag fabulous beach photos to be: (a) St. Andrews State Park (b) St. Joseph State Park, FL. In case you are unfamiliar to the area, the two locations are about two hours driving time from each other. St. Andrew’s State Park is located at the end of Thomas Drive, in Panama City Beach, Florida. St. Joe State Park is located at the end of Cape San Blas, which is east of Panama City Beach. You can’t miss it if you continue to follow Hwy-98 along the coastline.

By the way, thanks for displaying this particular photo; it brings back many memories of Pensacola bch.
