Hello Scally, I went to visit the Kelvin heron on Monday. It was standing down at the weir. A cormorant flew past and stopped to dry its wings near the footbridge. I waited for it to take off so I could get a shot of it in flight. Just as it started to fly and I was putting my viewfinder to my eye, a lady strode quickly towards me shouting, "excuse me, excuse me". I thought something was up, so I asked her what was wrong, and she replied, "that big black bird, what kind is it?". I told her it was a cormorant. She said, "thank you, sorry to have distracted you", and walked off. I managed to fire a burst at the cormorant in flight, but didn't get anything worthwhile. C'est la vie! :-)
