I really had to work my pea-brain on the "Moonset" title because this looks so much like a sunset! Until I saw the time it was taken.
Great colours of the trees balanced nicely with the foreground grasses.
Thanks, Conrad! Yes, not really the tropical beach that the title 'Moonset over the Lagoon' brings to mind, is it? But it was a pretty enjoyable morning walk anyway, and its likely that the temps would have seemed tropical to you up there in the north! Cheers!
Very tropical! But we can walk on water.
Nice one B-n-P, I envy your early sun.
LOL, Conrad - actually, I got a few shots of some ducks doing just that this week-end. A future post.
And ha-ha, Guy - and I envy you your late one! Though I'd sure never want the sunset time you've got. It's barely past lunch time! But a nice 7 a.m. sunrise is just about perfect timing for me.
This is a great shot, B-n-P. The reds are just great, especially on the grasses up front. The moon, the water, the whole scene is great.
Thanks very much, Jean - though I missed getting any of the geese or the swans in this shot ;) It actually was rather tough to photograph since the trees across the way really were glowing. I've got a lot of over-exposed versions. I can hardly wait for this scene with some snow in it, too!
We actually have a surplus of the stuff at the moment, so if you hurry you are welcome to stop by and take as much as you need. Take extra for family and friends.
Well thanks very much for sending some our way, Conrad. We're now in a pattern of a storm every other day...I'd like to exchange that gift if I may?
We have a no exchange policy here. Anyway, my view is that it is better to give than to receive.
Once again that brilliant little Horn Pond the reflections are just incredible. Will this one freeze over??? Dianne
Well Thank-you Conrad - your gift has arrived. We're snowed under!
And thanksdianne :) Oh, yes, it most certainly will freeze. Though we seem to be in a pattern of several days of very cold, and then several days of temps well above freezing, so it hasn't been staying solid yet. But technically its not even winter quite yet, so I'm sure it won't be long.
My apologies Bits-n-pieces...I was hoping the gift would get lost (or at least melt) in the mail! But now you have an opportunity to capture this scene under a blanket of snow...
Thanks very much Oliver (Lichtbildnisse, effigies of light) Holiday Greetings to Cologne :)
And well, Conrad, now in order to capture this scene under a blanket of snow, I must leave the toasty house, shovel out the car, and then slog through the snow...So I guess the scene will have to wait for Official Winter on Sunday, while I use having to get Christmas cards done as my excuse for hibernating today. And at least now we get to have a White Christmas. Much better than those Christmases when its rainy and in the 50s or 60s F!
Thanks very much picsonthemove Happy 2009!
And Conrad, you've really been much too generous this winter season - we received all that delightful snow and arctic air last month, but you just keep sending more! I've heard another package is arriving this afternoon. You're too kind. Please, feel free to stop. Really !
T'is better to give than to receive my mother always said. Never contradict your mother.
nice shot ~ well done voted
Thanks Nick !
