This would have to be the hardest stitch i have ever done has taken me two days and in the end i had to go back to the old manual program. this is early morning view is Singleton beach.

Looks great and great beach vegetation. Did you use PS-CS4 to stitch? For a series of shots like this, I use a tripod and lock in a long exposure (like 1/2 sec) and the same F-stop for all shots, and it seems to minimize the subtle gradation changes in the sky that occur as the sun rises.

Steve Paxton on December 14, 2008

Fran this was 9 shot all hand held i think i would next time lock the F stop but i liked the colour only see this early morning looking west the colour on the dunes is the sun coming through the building highlighting the plants. i may try again another day but it was a right bitch to do i use arcsoft pro4 panorama maker i used my older version to do this but still its not perfect but still i still love the colours. steve

Great panorama Steve!

I know what stitching work is required with Arcsoft, I used an older version myself. PS C-3 or C-4 will do the job on its own. Newer programs are just so much more advanced.

Keep up the good work!!!!

Holiday greetings and best wishes from Vancouver, B.C. Canada, Gabe

Gabe are you saying Photo shop i was never able to get version 4 to work 5 came with the scanner might try again i want it right as its such a nice view and colours. steve

Steve

Here is a link to Wikipedia Adobe Photoshop in case you are not familiar with the numbering of the versions of Photoshop. CS-3 and CS-4 will do automatic stitching called "Photomerge" but we are talking about expensive programs. I am also using ""Hugin" which is a free program, will work well and allow manual selection of control points in case the auto function lets you down. I do the finishing work using Photoshop 7 which is free to download now. Good luck, Gabe

superb panorama Steve, great dedication there, I still have yet to stitch anything together consisting of more than 3 shots! Super view and lovely tones.

Seasons greetings, Fai

Steve Paxton on December 15, 2008

thank you it seems the effort and swearing was worth it i could see the view nicely in the 9shot but do think all the modern programs would put it together nicely. the early morning tones i see as we surf this hour of the day. glad you all like the shot i hope you enjoy the big view but miss the only fault i could not get out no matter what. steve

Beauuuuuuuuutiful, Steve!! Merry Christmas to you, I think you did a wonderful job on this stretchy photo! I do especially love the moon as s special touch of Christmas magic. OK, there's not a Christmas tree in sight, but you don't need one with sheer beauty like this!

I do hope you and that wonderful super-extended family of yours have your most peaceful, happy and healthy and holy Christmas imaginable!

With special Christmas wishes from Sue, Les, Sarah, Emma, Margarette, Mary, George and Thomas, over in QLD. xx
