I raced to get this shot because the gentleman in the foreground left was already starting to unfurl his awning and this would have spoiled my shot. -Art

Thank you Karolina for your excitement about this picture. If you like Monet's water lillies take a look at my Photobucket album on Giverny because I interspersed in it his paintings alongside my photos. Best regards. -Art

Art this has to go in my favourites, since I'm a big fan of Vincent.

Should you ever return to France you must let me know, I give free guided tours of Auvers Sur Oise.

Ray, Next time you visit Arles, you will find that the tourist information place has a map that shows where Vincent painted many of his pictures. It makes it easy for folks like me to appear very smart. The smartest thing I did is to take my shot before the guy in the white tee shirt finished opening his awning. By the way, I did sneak into France on the weekend of 24-26 April but it was Lille, it was unplanned because we were "stuck" in Europe by the volcano and we figured visiting friends whose daughter we had been host parents for was a good way to fill the time before we could get a flight back. I see that Auvers sur Oise is just North of Paris, I've visited Paris over 7 times in the past 30 years, so maybe sometime. Best regards. -Art

Pretty similar to the Van Gogh vesion, Art,

but you missed the stars on the dark sky. :-))

Art Anderson on February 6, 2012

Yeah yeah, Per, the dark sky and stars came later but we were tourists in a hurry to go on clicking snapshots and such :-] Also, I had to hurry as that guy in the t-shirt was going to spoil the shot by lowering his canopy. Best regards to your Vikingship, -Art
