The Fox Cave was once a popular tourist attraction before US 70 was widened. The curio store was housed within a natural cliff cave walled in on the front with river rock harvested nearby.

my friend mrs.dorothy uncle bill built this store at fox cave and her sons have spent the nite there she is 90 years old and has the history about it and of the stories about how billy the kid had stayed in the cave from the older people who lived in the area.the place got its name fox cave from when her uncle rented it out to a mr. fox, she was rasied at fort stanton when it was a tuberculer hosp.in the 20"s. her mind is sharp as a tack ,she knows the people and the dates such as her husband built a gas station at the end of fox cave store.
