Hi Andreas, ich hab gehört der Airport von Gazipsa soll weitergebaut werden? Wäre ja ganz prima. Das würde die ewiglange Busfahrt von Antalya nach Alanya erübrigen.
Zur Wasserhose: Ja die Bilder sind mir schon aufgefallen. Live hab ich das auch noch nicht gesehen. Im "Tornadojahr 2006" musste der Türkeiurlaub leider ausfallen. :(

Hallo Stefan, ja das mit dem Flughafen in Gazipaşa ist so 'ne Sache. Er sollte eigentlich schon längst (1999), letzlich Mitte 2008 fertig gewesen sein. Aber da gibt es immer noch das Gerangel mit Antalya (für die es eine große Konkurenz wäre) und den Verantwortlichen in Gazipaşa, deren Bevölkerung dem Tourismus eher pessimistisch gegeüberstehen - man will halt kein zweites Alanya ... Ich bin zwar nicht auf dem allerneuesten Stand, habe aber was in Wikipedia gefunden, wonach es Ende 2009 soweit sein soll - ich persönlich glaube da nicht so richtig dran :-). Auch wird immer wieder ins Feld geführt, daß da zu viele Berge um den Flughafen wären und die Sicherheit dadurch gefährdet wäre.
Übrigens, so 'ne Wasserhose hab ich selbst schon mal in den 90-ern in Obaköy gesehen, dauerte allerdings nur wenige Minuten. Aber wenn die 2006-er an Land gegangen wären, hätte es mit Sicherheit etliche Zerstörungen gegeben.

My brother in law works for Government Airport Administration. He tells also that the selection of location of Gazipaşa Airport was not so reasonable as there are many limitations of approach and take-off due to mountains nearby.
Thank you for informing Hasan. Surely, operation of Gazipaşa Airport would be better for the environment and would reduce the long traffic from Antalya, but I fear it will not happen that soon (as the officials are telling us). Best wishes to you and greetings to Semra and Deniz, Andreas
