Pom' Angers on December 23, 2008

hello Niki ! I like it too :) how do you say "Venus (Aphrodite) and the Apple" in Greek ? many thanks for liking it !

MikrelliNiki on December 23, 2008

"Η Αφροδίτη και το Μήλο" Pom'!

Pom' Angers on December 23, 2008

many thanks dear Mi@Ni ! I've got a better tittle now. I've read somewhere that when a greek boy wanted to declare his flamme to a girl, in the Ancient Greece, he had just to offer her an apple ; does it still work like that ?

MikrelliNiki on December 23, 2008

So hard to answer in English...Anyway Venus was given the apple by Paris beacuse she was the most beautiful godess (you now that) (Bad people says that she gave him an apple in order to make him her lover) Anyway I don't know that version of the Myth you say. I'll search for more information.

Pom' Angers on December 23, 2008

well, as far as I remember, it is no myth but history : a use among young (mortal) greeks in the Ancient times. From your answer I understand that it's not in use anymore... so how do they do that now ?

MikrelliNiki on December 23, 2008

I should say "they don't do anything" but I'm not that bad... :) They usualy send an e-mail or sms and rarely give a red rose... What do you usualy do as a french loving greeks?

(If your myth was history It's normal not to remember it, I hadn't a good teacher)

Pom' Angers on December 23, 2008

Mmmmm... let me see... when I was a teenager, there was nothing like sms or e-mail. so we had to tell things more directly, with words... or acts ! a kiss would have been a good choice, probably. but well, times have changed since then.
