Looking into the Caldera from a place near the Swedish Solar Tower

This place was one of the reference points when installing the telescopes on the mountain in 1979 . The first "permanent" telecope was the one in the German tower on the nowadays famous parking lot at the Roque de los Muchachos .The German tower has now been taken away . The 2nd telescope was the 60 cm next to the Swedish Solar Telescope which was the 3rd.
