The Red Tower (tr. Kızıl Kule) is a main tourist attraction located in the port in the Turkish city of Alanya. The building is considered to be the symbol of the city, and is even used on the city's flag. The name derives from the more red color brick used in its construction. The octagonal red brick tower protects the Tersane (shipyard) which dates from 1221. In 1979 the city opened the Ethnographics Museum of Alanya inside of the tower. Admission to the tower and the museum is on one ticket, and costs 3 Turkish Lira.
