Hello womanofwisdom, The ‘Blackbird’ looks very futuristic but was designed in the early 1960’s. It was used for surveillance over the USSR, flying at 2,200mph, 85,000ft up. It looks quite menacing with its matt black paintwork sitting there at Duxford.
