The Snowy Mountains Hydro-electric Scheme was a magnificent piece / program of engineering; such things are infrequently seen nowadays!. You can be proud of the part you played.

I also went up to the Geehi Dam and saw its amazing overflow tunnel.

I've also camped at Swampy Plains many times; there used to be a township near there; do you know where that was? (via google earth?).
