** Crystal Pier upper deck

Crystal Pier is absolutely beautiful and very historic to San Diego and Pacific Beach. It was built in 1928 and has been a San Diego attraction for all these years. Recently it has had a very nice renovation while at the same time it kept a lot of the original feel of the pier. You will have to book 6 months to a year ahead of your stay to get one of the "SLEEP OVER THE OCEAN" rooms.

People that stay here and experience the sway of the ocean against the pier (when the ocean is rough), or sun on the deck in front of their cabin, or fish off the long pier, or watch the many beautiful sunsets, are known to return year after year as regulars. They come from all over the world to Pacific Beach and enjoy the unforgettable experience of staying in this wonderful Hotel. Well worth the wait to book one of these lovely renovated cottages on the pier or one of the upper units in the main building (They have patios that are great for the extended view or having a fantastic barbeque overlooking the ocean).

The pier is close to almost everything you will want or need while you are here as it is located at the Ocean, on the end of Garnet Ave. (Garnet is the main business corridor for the beach area). You can find restaurants of every kind, plenty of shopping choices, a great public library, bars, rental shops, services of all kinds, and all of this in walking distance (about one mile circle). HAVE FUN

Additional note: Crystal Pier lost 240 feet in the 1983 storm that hit this area and that is why the end of the pier has been rebuilt with an elevated area. Makes for a little interest on the power of the Pacific, a truely magnificent ocean.
